Higdon Insurance Group was founded in 1979 when Dan Higdon began serving clients as an independent insurance agent. As demand grew, Dan expanded his team of licensed professionals and established Higdon Agencies to better serve the community. In 2006, Michael Higdon launched his own successful agency, and in 2012, following Dan’s retirement, the two agencies united to form the current Higdon Insurance Group.
Today, the group has grown to four locations with a dedicated team of over 25 licensed agents. While the business has expanded, its core values remain the same—putting clients first and delivering trusted guidance with integrity and care. Known for their personalized service and commitment to excellence, Higdon Insurance Group has earned recognition within the industry and the trust of families and businesses across the region.
Agency Owner
Michael Higdon, founder and owner of Higdon Insurance Group, was born and raised in Albertville, Alabama.
A graduate of Auburn University, he began his insurance career in April 2006 and has been committed to serving clients with integrity and care ever since.
Now living in Guntersville, Michael leads the agency with a focus on marketing strategy, team development, and agent training. He is passionate about building a strong, client-focused team and fostering long-term relationships within the community.
Outside of the office, Michael enjoys spending quality time with his wife Jenny and their three daughters. He’s also an avid fan of the outdoors and loves staying active through sports and recreational activities.
